Where Were You Last Night?

A curfew was set last night, from 12 to 5 am, by the Government to give way to the 'follow-up operations' by the PNP on the Makati Standoff incident yesterday.

I was supposed to go to Greenhills Badminton Center (GBC) to be with my friends. Unfortunately, I couldn't take a cab until 8pm and decided to go straight home so as to avoid being still out in the street by midnight.

I had mixed emotions on this issue. I got scared 'coz the idea of Martial Law happening again crept in. I was tuned in to the AM radio station, lulling me to sleep and watched the news on TV while having breakfast.

I think the curfew had done good for the metro and accepted the authorities' explanation on why they had to impose it. I just hope, like what the other Filipinos do, that this is just a one-time thing and that Martial Law is a very remote possibility to happen again.

Peace be with you. God bless us, Filipinos.

P.S. I can only shake my head on Trillanes' latest escapade. Sayang...

Outdated kwentos

These happened weeks ago pa and failed to blog about them agad. hehehe

First, about Mercy.

She's a one-month old white, Japanese spitz given to my aunt by her cousin. On her first few nights at home, she slept in my room. Until my uncle wanted her to get used to sleeping in her cage. My uncle's not an avid fan of dogs in the house because of the mess. It first saddened me that she won't sleep in my room anymore, but got happy that she's behaving well and knows when she has to be in the cage. I play with her whenever I get the chance. She's still a little naughty and would try to play by biting. So far, I can still correct her with that bad behavior. She's not as sweet as a poodle or shitzu, but, she's still good. :)

And I wanna tell you about Elaine Lao. :)

Got to meet and spend a little time with her when I accompanied my friend Paul M. when he played in Centro one night.

Elaine's one of the level A female badminton club players and was also there playing. I was just in the bench watching and texting. One would think she's a snob, in fact, that's one of my impressions before. But, that changed that night. Since she knows Paul M., they chatted with each other. And when she finished playing and changing, she invited me to join her for dinner while I wait for Paul, who's still playing that time. I hesitated first, but, gave in.

Good thing I got to see the novel she brought (Until You by Judith McNaught) and told her I've read it and loved it. She's just on the first few pages and was happy about my recommendation. She mentioned about Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice and our conversation went on, not allowing us to shut up. Hehehe. I got to tell her about the Trilogy about Fitzwilliam Darcy and she got excited. How we both love Mr. Darcy in Jane Austen's book!!! She even asked me to text her the exact titles of the 3 books. And I did. c",) Even Paul M. was surprised that she's that nice and easy to chat with. A few days ago, I saw the trilogy books in the National Bookstore in Megamall and thought of her. I texted her (well, it's not that we started to text everyday, but, I know I gotta tell her about the stocks). She was happy and learned from Paul that she even told them about how sweet I was. Hehehe...

These are outdated, but, still worth sharing. c",)

Thanksgiving Day

I'd like to be positive about what just happened.

I wanna take this opportunity to thank some of my friends who were able to be there at the right time for me. Who were able to reply quickly as soon as they can even by just asking what's happening and the whys.

You know who you are. You were able to help me accept. Made it easier for me to understand. And of course, easier for me to let go. You gave me comfort by making me feel you're there. I could have cried again rivers of tears, but, I was able to hold them back.

For all of these, THANK YOU SO MUCH! I may not know how to show my appreciation, but, I do appreciate your presence in my life. Mwah! Hugs! c",)

Naughty and Nice

I still wish Santa Claus could still give me gifts this Christmas kahit na I've been naughty. I've been nice pa rin naman eh.

I want to be a kid again. No, I wish I am still a kid and would stay being one forever.

For I can be naughty and nice, and most importantly, still be cute, all at the same time.

Baby Alonzo Julian Alba, now in heaven

A text message from my best friend, Angge, at 9:26 am today:

"Nsa heaven n c bb zo ko."

I just had to call her. It was a good sign hearing her voice that sounded like she started to accept something like this happening to her first-born child. I could only say it's maybe better than going thru surgery pa.

Good thing I was able to hold back my tears so as not to bother my officemates.

For you reading this entry, pls pray for this angel. Thanks.

an eventful weekend

Saturday was a great day while Sunday was a sad one.

It was the awaited annual tourney by the Baddicts last Saturday, which was slated for the whole day. Was already in GBC as early as 8:15am to help Marc and the others in any way I can since me and my partner, Diane's, scheduled to play at 1:30 pa. Also assisted Mike R. (our team captain) to get our team organized (from the distribution of shirts, offering food to each player, and getting rattled myself doing all these! LOL ). Ay, getting nervous for my game/s din pala while doing these things. Magkahalong pressure, takot, at kaba!!! Pressure na manalo para maka-contribute ng points sa team standing, takot sa mga mambobodega sa akin (with Diane being the stronger player sa aming dalawa), at kaba na baka di ako makagalaw sa court.

Was glad to see the faces of the people who became my friends eversince I became a member of this group. And after playing 4 games, I was happy that I didn't disappoint my partner and teammates. Losing 1 game (which could be due to jitters) was even a good experience for that was the only game (among our 4) which was watched by a lot of people. Kaya takot-takot na kaba ang dinanas namin ni Diane. LOL.

Aside from the friends, were the freebies and food during the whole time, making it more satisfying for me. LOL.

Of course, there was just one glitch and it's not tourney related (and did not totally ruin the happy mood the event had given me). It's so sad to see someone react the way she did getting someone else affected by it. Such a sore loser and still don't know how to best describe such person! *pls imagine a raised eyebrow emoticon here*

SUNDAY! I almost wasn't able to visit my best friend, Angela, because of the sore muscles and the craving to sleep the whole day.

But, i felt the urge to go out and finally decide that I had to go to her. She gave birth (via CS) last Nov. 10. Her angel baby Zo (Alonzo Julian) was diagnosed to have a congenital heart disease (I'm so bad recalling the medical terms...basta may problem sya sa heart). She updates me thru text from time to time and always requesting for prayers for baby Zo is now required to undergo surgery by tomorrow. The baby is now at the Pediatric ICU 2 (PICU 2) of the Phil Heart Center and I got to see their situation last night. I only got to see the pics from Angela's mobile phone and cried with her when she's pouring out her heartaches to me. :( I can only feel for her especially when she's saying that her heart breaks whenever she sees baby Zo with all those apparatus/tubes/instruments connected to him. :(

I can only give a few words of wisdom based on what I've read, observed, felt. I just hope they were able to console her. All we can do right now is keep our faith and continue trusting our Lord Almighty.

There are still lots of things I wanna write about it pero next time na lang. I have to work na.

Ang haba nito!

The History

Got this from tin's blog site. c",)

1. How long have you been blogging?

More than 2 years now. Started in April 2005.

2. What inspired you to start a blog and who are your mentors?

I thought of finally joining the blogging club when I was enjoying browsing thru Adinille's now defunct tismo site. I used to have my daily journals but got tired of writing (using pen), hence, it stopped. So, when I learned about blogging, I thought of starting not one but 4 sites! LOL. I consider Adinille and Tin as my mentors. hehehe...

3. Are you trying to make money online or just doing it for fun?

Right now, no plans yet of earning from blogging for I am not that consistent in updating my site/s and cannot/won't use English as the medium as often as required (grammar check pls...hehehe).

4. Tell me 3 things you LOVE about being online.

- keeping in touch with friends (esp those you don't often see);
- continuous learning (about stuffs, other people)
- having fun while being online. c",)

5. Tell me 3 things you STRUGGLE within the online world.

- i can't stay online as often as I would want to;
- limitations (can only get online thru proxy servers here at work - meaning no FRIENDSTERS!!!!)
- relying on being online instead of having the urge or giving effort to see the people you want to see.

Like Tin, don't know who else to tag, but, I hope the few who're reading this post would feel like sharing. c",)

"musta naman?"

Nauuuso ngayon ang phrase na 'to as immediate reactions to things or whatever "musta naman...?"

Parang ang daming dapat kumustahin lately. Pero ngayon, kumustahin ko muna sarili ko....hehehehe...

So, musta naman ako?

Di kami nanalo ng partner ko last Monday sa company tourney namin kaya 1st runner-up lang kami. May panghihinayang ako kasi I could've played better.

Ang normally 10-minute drive from Katipunan to Ortigas eh naging isang oras!!!! Walang tigil kasi ang pag-ulan mula kagabi pa. Di ko malaman kung may bagyo o sadyang may ITCZ lang....Haaayyyy... Buti na lang walang deadline para malagot ako sa pagiging late.

So yan! So musta ako? Eto, ngarag! Madaling mairita, etc etc... Haaayyyy... Gusto kong umuwi't matulog maghapon lalo na kung ganito ang panahon!

Kayo, musta naman? ;)

some random thoughts

It's a mixed feeling for me being busy lately for it's somehow a relief though tiring. Sigh.

Anyways, in line with being busy at work is preparing for the final night of our company's 2nd Badmin tourney for this year. Being a committee member in-charge of this event, it surely is taking my time from my regular workload. And not only that, being one of the qualified players to play on Monday night also adds to the pressure. I'm still good. :) Nervous, but still good. hehehe...Wish me luck, pls. I'll be playing against men in level B (take note that this is just a company tourney), for it's always been a non-gender tourney.

I remember my conversation with my college best friend, Angela, last week, during the holidays. She's pregnant and due to give birth anytime this week. It's only last week that I got to know her baby boy's condition. Medical tests had shown it won't be an easy birth for this angel. There's a big possibility that he might have heart complications. :( I'm just glad, Angela's keeping the faith, a strong one indeed. God bless my future godson, Alonzo Julian.

I won't deny the fact that after our chat, I am now more determined to accept and be happy being single. It's kinda funny that Angela's like forcing me to get married asap before it gets very hard for me to give birth considering my age of 31. Yes, she got me scared with that thought (and she really had to remind me of that), I decided that it'll be easier to think that I won't get married and shouldn't worry about giving birth.

***

A sad news: Donna, one of my badminton friends, informed us earlier that our group's Mommy Carms' dad passed away this morning. :( Another reminder that almost everyone has to deal with this in his/her lifetime, losing a parent or both. Right now, I still can't figure out if being an orphan in a quite early stage of my life is something that I should be glad/thankful for or really feel sorry about.

***

That's all for now. I've written long enough thinking where should I post this, here or on the other blog. hehehe.... Sige, dito na lang...ganun din yun... :D

"Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas"

I've decided to listen to Christmas songs today.
Just want to feel senti (as always....hehehe)...

I got to hear this song...I kinda find this ironic
coz it's supposed to be a jolly song but the
rendition was soulful...Oh well...Still good...

****************************************************

Have yourself a merry little Christmas,
Let your heart be light
From now on,
our troubles will be out of sight

Have yourself a merry little Christmas,
Make the Yule-tide gay,
From now on,
our troubles will be miles away.

Here we are as in olden days,
Happy golden days of yore.
Faithful friends who are dear to us
Gather near to us once more.

Through the years
We all will be together,
If the Fates allow
Hang a shining star upon the highest bough.
And have yourself a merry little Christmas now.

Here we are as in olden days,
Happy golden days of yore.
Faithful friends who are dear to us
Gather near to us once more.

Through the years
We all will be together,
If the Fates allow
Hang a shining star upon the highest bough.
And have yourself a merry little Christmas now.
